Jamey Ryan, a young man new to ranch life, joins Bart Ringo, Willie McDermott and Doc Pigeon in a struggle to start a new cattle ranch in the Wyoming Territory of the 1880's. The owner of the largest cattle ranch in the area, Boss Katzman, stops at nothing - not even murder - to try and stop them. The action revolves around the town's most popular saloon, Heaven's Gate, which also serves as the backdrop for a murder trial that decides the fate of the new ranch.
