One of important branch of physics and engendering is thermodynamics which is study and application of the thermal energy. Thermodynamics is the result of man's constant effort in converting heat into work. Temperature is a key to understand thermodynamics. The sensation of temperature occurs due to change in the thermal energy of the system with its environment. Such transfer of thermal energy is called heat. Heat is the energy transferred between a system and its environment because of a temperature difference that exists between them. The energy can also be transferred between a system and its environment as work W via force acting on a system. Heat and work, unlike temperature, pressure and volume are not intrinsic properties of a system. They have meaning only for transfer of energy into or out of system. To explore heat experiments, you can conduct simple demonstrations like observing heat transfer through conduction ( holding a warm cup) or convection ( heating water and air), or even radiation ( warming your hands near a fire).
