It has always been in Elga's heart to write stories for children and youth, stories with the true meaning of life and the joy of living life to its fullest. Heart-to-Heart is a wonderful example of the stories she has longed to share with youth. Elga Haymon White has written poems and short stories since she was a child. She has also been an avid reader. Her brother, Rev. Donald E. Haymon, commented to his congregation not too long ago, "I remember Elga reading Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys to my brother and me when we were boys." Elga and Donald E. wrote a 'riveting, heart-throbbing story' when she was a teenager and he was only twelve-years-old, The Mystery of Blue Hill. Elga says, "I believe I was born with royal blue ink flowing in my veins and a quill in my hand. I've always loved to write." When there was nothing else to do-she never got 'bored'-she'd grab her ever-ready pen and tablet, and 'scribble' a little story or a beautiful poem. Never sharing any of these stories or poems, she filed them away in a folder for 'future use'...having no idea why she even kept them! Also, a series of stories for children, titled, "I Love Books..." is in the works. The moral of each story is a 'lesson' to be learned by the child. All stories have three parts: The Story, A Coloring Section, and an Activities Section. The first book should be in the hands of the publisher the latter part of 2004, which truly means: All of this 'scribblin' and writin', from a child to the present time, has paid off in the end. Plus, in 2004, Elga plans to publish yet another 'short story book' for youth. Book jacket.
