For as long as he can remember, Cole has had superhuman abilities, strength, speed, the ability to heal quickly from any injury, and the ability to fly. Being adopted, he doesn't know where his powers came from, and with the help of his husband, Cole turns into a crime fighting superhero with the moniker, Obsidian. When another person dubbed Jade who has different powers appears as a criminal, it is not long before Cole and Jade become bitter enemies who clash often.

Cole's world is turned upside down when his husband dies suddenly, and he runs into his cousin, Ryder at the funeral who turned out to be Jade.

But when Jade turns up at his house two days later, injured and with an unbelievable tale about a far reaching conspiracy which may also have the answers of where their powers came from, Cole has to choose between working with Jade or forgetting about the whole thing. Even if he wants to know the truth, can he trust Jade?
