If You've Ever Had A Heart Dog Of Your Own, You Know...

This book grew out of a discussion on a Labrador Retriever Rescue list, I believe, and spread to other groups. So many of us have dogs that touch our hearts in a special way that no other pet has. Walt wanted us to share our stories of those dogs, and some of the proceeds go to canine rescue. What came next was a flurry of e-mails and letters, telling him how we came to have these wonderful dogs, and what they mean to us. My own Heart Dog, Ripley, is included... This dog has changed how I view the world, and how I reach out to it. My only complaint about the book is that many folks just sent an e-mail the way they always send e-mail, not really "writing" an essay about the dog in question, which I think might have made a little more pleasant reading. But the stories are the same, and they will truly touch your heart, just as our Heart Dogs have touched ours.
