Does God's heart cry out for cannibals? For that matter, does God's heart cry for suicide bombers or terrorists? Is the Christian message of God's love as valid today as it was in the past, or is it... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Heart Cry deserves to be widely read. Arlita Winston's well-written and stirring account of her father's missionary journeys is gripping and very moving. I found it to be highly inspiring reading. I highly recommend it!!! Susann McDonald

Heart-Cry by Arlita Morken Winston is truly a labor of love! The stories of what David and Helen Morken, her parents, went through to bring the Gospel message to the Kubu's of Indonesia are truly remarkable. It is an amazing description of God's mercy and grace not only to the Morken family but to the people they served. The Kubu's were scattered in groups across many miles of jungle but David Morken and his brother-in-law, Hubert Mitchell, actively sought out these people who had never heard Jesus' name. They were able to see what God's peace and forgiveness can do to a man's heart. And what is really wonderful is that Arlita has been able to find remnants of her parent's work there in present day Christians. There are many exciting stories in this book. I found myself with tears in my eyes many times. It left me with a great admiration for this family that has sought to follow the Lord for so many generations.

It was amazing to hear Pastor Chuck Smith praise God for the book Heart-Cry by Arlita Morken Winston. I have been sitting in the sanctuary at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa for over 30 years and have never heard him give such a recommendation. So if he and Elisabeth Elliot say it is a `must read' I pay attention! Arlita Morken Winston lived in the jungles of Sumatra, the child of missionaries David & Helen Morken. Decades later, she looks back and tells of how her family braved wild panthers and pythons, head-hunters, hardship, and even death to bring God's love to the savage aborigines. This book is a true love story that reflects the ultimate romance between Jesus Christ and those who put their trust in Him. May you find in these pages the timeless truth of God's love for you and for all humankind and that others will know this love as they respond to His Heart-Cry.
