These 42 offerings may or may not be the answer to the universe, but they have been the answer to my heart finding meaning in this time and in this place, leading me to the belief that suffering is the key to clarity and healing in a sick and broken world. It's like that silly clich of making lemonade when life gives you lemons. Who knew that something so simple could be so profound?

The Grateful Dead sang "what a long strange trip it's been" which may be yet another type of clich but it describes the process I've experienced in wading back through these poems, this prose, and remembering these people that have been instrumental in my life going back thirty years now since first stepping foot into an Orthodox Church. It has made me grateful for the shared struggle.
