He Restores My Soul

Faith in God, trusting in his Word, prayer, and the resolve not to give up and quit when the trials of life presented did not come easy. Sometimes, I could only say, "Lord, help me." He heard my prayer. I knew if I could get up every morning, I could make it, letting my feet touch the floor and then kneeling to pray. There were days when I had no words; I would hum a song. Listening to praise and worship kept me. Through it all, God showed himself faithful to his word. He said he would never leave me or forsake me even when I could not sense his presence. I had to forgive myself and then forgive others. There was no blame; that would not have brought healing and restoration. He restored my soul by healing my heart and providing peace and comfort. He kept my mind, my soul, the core of my being so that I would not lose hope. He is my protector, my provider-the all-sufficient one in my life.
