He Is Risen Indeed: 10 Easter Piano Solos

By: Joseph Shiery

"Jesus Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia!" This book was challenging... for three main reasons. First, writer's block. I began working on this book in December, 2022. I spent the last couple weeks of the year arranging the first hymn, "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today," yet I only had one page to show for it. Frustrated, I did not resume any progress for an entire year. Next, I'll admit, writer's burnout. I joyfully published three music books in 2022 and wanted to match that output in 2023... I published zero ! Instead, I took the year to focus on a new music challenge, orchestral hymn arrangements on YouTube. This huge undertaking was completed in November, 2023. Finally, major life changes. My wife and I moved across the country, and we welcomed our first child! We both started new jobs, and we are as busy as ever. Dedicating time to this book was incredibly difficult and stressful. And now, I am so excited to present to you my first piano book in over a year, He Is Risen Indeed. Much has changed in my life since publishing Christmas Meditation , but the music continues on, and the Word endures forever. The title is based on the timeless Christian greeting around the time of Easter. With those words in mind, I carefully crafted ten powerful arrangements, each more enjoyable to perform than the last. I pray that you are able to use these arrangements to the glory of God in any and every situation. Thank you, Joseph Shiery Difficulty: Intermediate-Advanced He Is Risen Indeed contains the following Easter arrangements: 1) Jesus Christ Is Risen Today 2) I Know That My Redeemer Lives 3) Awake, My Heart, With Gladness 4) Prelude on Walther 5) This Joyful Eastertide 6) The Day of Resurrection 7) Crown Him with Many Crowns 8) At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing 9) Christ the Lord Is Risen Today; Alleluia 10) Jerusalem the Golden
