The fictional account of life and times of Alessandro Lambrina (1864 - 1920), the bright intuitive son of the hay trading Lambrinas of rural Lake Como, Italy. Destines to seek his fortune beyond the Lombardy of his prosperous but troubled familiy, he would first apply his business acumen in England, and later experience even greater success in the fashion and clothing industry of New York. All of this doesn't go without a price. An intrigue is nearly destroying his reputation in London and in New York unexpectedly two villains wait for him to make his life miserable.
However, Alessandro was not your typical businessman of the late 19th Century, his sensitivity, intelligence and intuitive insights endeared him to others, as did the entertaining magic tricks he learned to perform as a boy. Yet unknown to all but his intimate circle, Alessandro had inherited his grandmother's ability to have prophetic visions, and though the meaning of some visions might not at first be clear - they would nonetheless manifest in unmistakably accurate detail. This remarkable man would know great love and passion, loss and reward, in a saga that offers the reader both a mystical romantic journey and an authentic experience of life in the late 19th Century and the early years of the 20th.
You have written this novel in way that offers the reader a chance to experience life in the late 19th Century, and towards the end of the book the early 20th Century. As a result, your story reads like the best of historical fiction in terms of its feeling of authenticity.
Much of what we learn we discover through the masterful use of dialogue, written in an older 19th Century style, with bits of Italian interspersed to good effect. It's as if we are listening to conversations that actually occurred.
Still, your story moves along with an array of characters and dialogue. Therefore, the strong points of your story telling style, are threefold:1) Authentic sounding dialogue
2) Extensive character development, including back story and descriptive details
3) References to relevant historical events and social conditions
