Decent Guidebook with Pictures

This is an illustrated guide for travelers to the Hawaiian islands. It begins with a brief introduction to Hawaii, including history, geology, travel, climate, food, and shopping. This is followed by separate chapters providing specific information about each island. These chapters include general information about how to get the island, where to stay, and major cities, districts, and parks. The text provides descriptions and maps of major routes between cities, and places of interest along the way. At the end of the book is additional material on recreation, festivals and major events, and sources for more information. The book is amply illustrated with color and black-and-white photographs. Its dimensions make it a little unwieldy for carrying in a back-pack, but it would might make a welcome addition to a coffee table as an album to help bring back memories of a trip or to help dream of a trip to come.
