An interesting series that mysteriously lasted for 78 episodes.
We begin with the typical pattern of a long-term story that has short-term issues, which appear and are resolved within one or two episodes.
Usually, it takes a few seasons before running out of ideas and reverting to things like “Groundhog Day” and “Freaky Friday”. However, Haven could not make it past two seasons without applying these distractions. So, it is surprising that even though they may have changed their focus and put in one twist after another that they lasted the78 episodes.
It does not take long to realize that this is more of a soap opera with a sci-fi twist. And towards the end, they have that gawd-awful background tinkling piano.
I'm not sure if they needed the money, but there's a lot of product name recognition. They even drink something called “TAB.”
This is also a vehicle for out-of-work actors. It is fun to say, 'Where did I see the actor before?' Even if you can't make it through all the seasons, there is a surprise actor in the last three episodes of Season 5.
A big plus is that the story was well wrapped up in the end. They knew it was the end and did not leave you hanging. However, it did leave you with the feeling that it could have been a pilot for another series.
