Have You Not Read?: Revelation 1:1-3

In the first recorded question from God in the Bible, He is calling out to Adam, asking where he is. God obviously knew exactly where Adam was, yet He asks the question. Why? God wants Adam to acknowledge where he is and why he is there. Where was Adam and what was he doing? He was hiding! He was hiding from God because he had disobeyed Him. He had sinned and now he was afraid.

These questions from God are ones that He has asked all mankind over the ages. Man has continued to run and hide from God or has tried to live his life without God. For His part, God has continually looked for the lost and has interjected Himself into lost and broken lives. How do we know that God is always seeking us out to draw us back to Himself? We find the answers in God's Word. "Have you not read?"
