Pretty good

I liked this book but I didn't like the way it was written. There were times I couldn't tell where she was in the book because she skipped from time frames too much. I liked the little tidbits she gave about the stars at the beginging of the chapters. I've heard some of her radio show interviews and I think sometimes she is just as mean as Wendy Williams. I could have gone a lifetime without hearing about ol busted Busta and dried up Doug E. Fresh. I thought the book was an overall good read, not a page turner as I hoped but I feel like I understand why she is the way she is now seeing all the things she had gone through.

Only God Can Judge Me...

Because I am not from the N.Y. area I don't have the pleasure of listening to Miss Jones morning show, but when I saw her book in Waldenbooks and read some of the reviews I must admit that I was immediately intrigued by this woman that people loved to hate. Tarsha Jones took on an enormous task of baring her naked soul to the world, a big feat for a woman that is judged by million of listeners daily. Could I have written such a moving autobiography, I don't think so. It takes a real woman to admit her role in her failed relationships and career moves, then share with the world what she has learn from her past and how to move the hell on. I commend Miss Jones for being the woman that so many of us wish we could be! If you think you know her just from listening to her morning show then you are sadly mistaken. What starts off as a slow read that's a little ruff around the edges in the beginning picks up speed and smooths out into a fascinating story that captivates the reader as one of the most powerful women in radio takes you on a roller coaster ride that is called her life.

A DELICIOUS, WELL-PACED READ!

I read this book after it being highly recommended by New York book reviewers with the Daily News and the Post! I was curious about the life about this complex woman. Frankly I am stunned by the personal attacks of other 'reviewers', who welcome her demise. Why invest the effort in attacking someone? If you don't like them, stay away....and certainly don't read their book. Human nature is a funny thing! What a great snapshot behind Miss Jones. I got a glimpse in the machinations that go on behind the scenes at some black radio stations. As I suspected, its not all black unity. This book was a lively, often humorous, sometimes tragic and forthright read, revealing personal vulnerabilities and mistake that frankly its takes courage to admit. Unlike many other books, I was amused that Miss Jones had the courage to name names of her current and former managers. Clearly, though she has a visible platform, behind the scenes she is as vulnerable as many women when it comes to affairs of the heart...but thankfully she admits her mistakes and moves on. Now that I think about it, I have always heard people talk ABOUT her, including her so-called radio colleagues, but I have never heard HER side. GOOD JOB! I cheer any black woman who has overcome career and personal obstacles! CLEARLY WRITTEN. WELL-PACED. HER VOICE. OUR BOOK CLUB LOVED IT! A DELICIOUS READ!

GREAT READ!!!!

i read this book in a 1 1/2 days...and if i wasnt for sleep it woulda took lest time...the pages literally turn them selves!!! its not all about gossip which is what i thought it would be...this is an author allowing people to take a look inside her life.....i enjoyed it.

VERY INTERSTING BOOK (A GREAT READ)

I read this book in two days. I love listening to Miss Jones in the Morning. She helps me with my day in the morning. Since I dont drink coffee in the morning she is my coffee in the morning, so I was very anxious to read the book. What I got from reading the book is why Miss Jones is the way she is. Girls fighting her up until high school, trying to make it in the music industry and all the haters. For her to go through all that and fight she was destined to be successful. So go out and get the book its a great book.. NICOLII
