Chevrolets, Buicks, Pontiacs, Fords, Plymouths and Dodges glide past, some restored and others patched together.
These cars, relics of Detroit's golden age, are more than taxis.

They are survivors, symbols of Cuba's resilience and storytellers of history on wheels. Over eight years and countless walks through Old and Centro Havana, Vedado and along the Malecon I created over 7000 images.

For me, the cars stirred personal memories of my father's vehicles in the 1950's and 60's. This book is not only a photographic record but a narrative into how these cars arrived, why they endured and how they continue to define Havana's
identity.
