I've read this book, its prequel (Haunted Ontario) as well as its sequel (Haunted Ontario Revisited). In Haunted Ontario Revisited, most but not all of the allegedly-true ghost stories that are recounted are updates of some of the tales presented in the two prior books; for these updated tales, the author has re-told them, pretty much verbatim, as taken from one of the prior books and then added a few pages of new information based on his recent visits. For readers who are not familiar with this author's books, the writing style is very clear and quite engaging. In the stories in these books, the historical snippets leading up to the ghostly encounters are particularly interesting. These books will appeal not only to those who are intrigued by good ghost stories, but also to those who are interested in the history of the communities where these hauntings have been reported to occur.
