After most terrorist attacks in the West, the search for answers leads to introspection and examination of the victim. Often, the victim's actions are described as the prime motivation for the act of terrorism. This blame the victim mentality is not only a disservice to the victim but a rejection of the true origins of terrorism, which can be described as acting on one's hatred. Most extremist groups, both domestic and international, have two things in common. Those are hate and Anti-Semitism. Hate is the bedrock of extremism, and Anti-Semitic conspiracy theories provide a dogma most extremists share. Hate, radical Islam, White supremacism, and Anti-Semitism are ancient problems; but they all have modern pedigrees. Most extremist groups in some way have lineages traceable to Nazi Germany. The Muslim Brotherhood developed in Egypt as an extension of Nazi Germany, whose hate helped shape the modern Middle East. Iran means "land of the Aryans." While Iran's connections to Hitler were not as strong as the Muslim Brotherhood, the Iranian government intends to emulate Hitler. Most White Supremacists simply hate everyone who does not look like them. Others are well steeped in the ideology of hate and understand their origins. The Black Separatist movement is almost as Anti-Semitic as White Supremacists. The Black Right has rejected the Civil Rights Movement in exchange for hate. The radical Left is teetering on the edge of outright Anti-Semitism by embracing the Middle Eastern terrorists. There are solutions. We must recognize evil is real, and hate is pure evil. Tolerance of hate is the same as intolerance, and we are too tolerant of hate. People who commit acts of terrorism do not exist in a vacuum. Most of them know people who recognize the signs of radicalization. This problem must be exposed and even ridiculed. If a group cooperates with a despotic regime, foreign terrorist organization, or a domestic terrorists; the media should demand answers. Finally, we must acknowledge that hate also destroys the hater. This fact can be useful in turning extremists back from the path of radicalization.
