HARRIET TUBMAN:The Moses of Her People

I purchased this book based on two criteria; THE SUBJECT and size of the book. I recalled some of my nine years old daughter's favorite books as a toddler were those of similar size - easy to carry and sleep with in her bed. Two years later my daughter must do a research bibliography book report and dramatic speech (first person). When we re-read this book I was truly blessed by the emphasis of God's presences throughout Mrs. Harriet Tubman's life. It was genuinely refreshing and historically correct to have that point of view included repetitively. Many books seem to mention how "The Church" was the comfort and support for the American-African peoples and communities. In this book you read where Araminta's mother prayed over her and any other person the Spirit so lead her to pray for including those who enslaved her. God's calling to Harriet years before her mission of freedom began and her daily prayers. My daughter also finds it re-enforcing her spiritual connection to God and how he worked in Mrs. Tubman's life daily. There is one statement that said she never married again which is contrary to other books I have read.
