While on a solo weekend getaway to the big empty, Michael hooks up with Geraldine at a gas stop. Michael's wife Alice starts an affair with Phillip, a trust fund baby and celebrity chef, and with Bernard at the request of Samantha, her best friend and his wife, who wants Bernard, whom she suspects knows about her own infidelities, to have some fun to hide as well. Phillip, has friend-with-long-standing-privilege status with Geraldine. Lyle, is gay but maneuvered into consensual sex by Samantha, and Eli is Lyle's partner, from whom Lyle just cannot keep secrets.
