Happy individuals have a story

Over the course of some 600 interviews conducted over the past five years, I have observed at least two types of happy people: those who have found the "secret" of happiness and those who, despite great trials, manage to keep - or find - smile. We talk a lot about these people who have everything to be happy and who are not. I much prefer those who have everything to be unhappy and who are, despite everything, happy.
Because yes, happiness can be a choice.
I have brought together in this book about sixty stories written since 2012, which seemed timeless to me despite certain outdated references from the news at the time. Don't hold it against me. I chose chronicles that tell the story of happy people, like this father who lost his 20-year-old daughter in a climbing accident, like this sympathetic Gaspesian who cheated death with a clown's nose, two elves and a deck of cards. Like this woman who, with infinite patience and meticulousness, makes clothes for stillborn children. Like that janitor at a school, just happy to be a janitor.
Each chronicle has its little story, I will share it with you. How did the idea come to me? Why did I choose to write on this subject rather than another? What happened after publication? There were old friends who reunited, generous souls -Whether you are rich or poor does not change anything, happiness is not a matter of money. The people whose story I tell you have understood that there is a wealth that grows with use. It's these people and their story that I like to tell, because they don't make noise.
