I know the Great Books anthologies are meant for book groups, but I ended up reading most of this anthology on my own after moving away from my group. I missed the discussions and how they expand on the readings, but this anthology had so many interesting authors that were new to me that I really enjoyed the readings anyway. The selections are all thought-provoking.
