Happies for March: Active Learning Activities

JAW DROPPING SYLLABICATION Why? Playing with syllables increases students' awareness of sounds. Adding physical movements engages students and helps them make connections between what they hear and what they feel. Word play with sounds and movements will intrigue your students and help them develop an interest in language. Happies for March contains many opportunities for students to grow their literacy skills. We also include math, science, social studies and interpersonal skills in the activities. Resources provided with this book include links to song files, videos and printable pages. We need to do everything we can every day to give children a little happiness. That's why Dr. Jean, Carolyn Kisloski and Alex May want to suggest ideas and activities with our HAPPIES for March. We believe this book will make you smile and excited to help your students learn. You'll find lots of seasonal activities and songs your students. Looking for ideas to inspire youngsters to actively participate in their learning? Dr. Jean Feldman and Carolyn Kisloski have created a series of books filled with activities in Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and STEM that will help. Young children are designed to have fun, laugh and learn in order to develop into well-rounded and happy adults. If you don't have happiness when you are a child, how are you ever going to find happiness later in your life? It's not always the big things in your classroom, like your reading program and curriculum, but the little things you do each day - the cheers, handshakes, songs, games - that give joy and meaning to learning. And the good news is that singing and moving are the most powerful ways to put information in the brain. This book supports important education research. Jean Feldman has been actively involved in education for over 50 years as a classroom teacher, instructor of adults, author, and consultant. Dr. Feldman has a B.A. from the University of Georgia, a D.A.S.T. from Emory University, an M.A. and Ph.D. from Georgia State University. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Dr. Feldman has written over 20 books for early childhood educators and has produced popular CDs and DVDs. She also has a blog with daily ideas for classrooms and a YouTube channel with more than 200 videos for classroom and family viewing. Carolyn Kisloski has been a kindergarten teacher all her adult life. She began teaching in 1986, stayed home to raise her three children, then returned to the kindergarten classroom in 2008. Carolyn loves creating new ways to make learning fun and sharing these ideas with other educators. She is the author of the blog Kindergarten: Holding Hands and Sticking Together. Carolyn has also written two other books with Dr. Jean: Reading Recipes and Math Recipes.
