Hans' Magic Christmas Tree

It's Christmas Eve, and Hans is asked to take a slice of mincemeat pie to a lumberjack for a Christmas tree. Instead of doing what he's told, he trades the pie for a "magic" tree. But, the magic doesn't work. He's told that he must goes on several quests to make the magic work, but all he discovers is he's farther from home and in very dangerous situations. But he's willing to take the risk...at least for a while.
