Semi-autobiographical, Hannibal and Me is a book about the adventures of one man who, inspired by his ancient hero sought to replicate some of the travels of Hannibal around Spain, France & Italy. Hannibal famously crossed The Alps with his elephants whereas Nick didn't. Instead he chose to ride his motorbike whereupon he was able to get with the locals 'in the hood' and in so doing experience the sights, sounds and smells of 4000 miles of travelling.His story which Nick conveniently runs parallel to that of Hannibal takes you from its initial idea to it eventually becoming a reality and on through to its final conclusion. The story includes some anecdotes from Nick's time in the Royal Navy's submarine service.
