Phyllis Barrett was more than the author of the book, "Hang in There, Mom!" She was also a columnist for the Birmingham News the book shares snippets of her column. Real-life stories of her marriage to Bob Barrett who at one time worked for the FBI, and then for the SEC during the time of Bear Bryant. Hang in there, Mom are true-to-life stories of Phyllis and the kids' adventures. But Phyllis was more than that. She was my mentor and my friend. She just passed at age 95.
