This book is based upon experiences as student and practitioner. The challenges that we have come across while learning the basics of Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) software, have encouraged us to attempt to write this book for fulfilling the requirements of learning the basic knowledge about QGIS for the beginners. As it is extremely difficult to bring all the processes and algorithms of QGIS into a single book, therefore an attempt has been made to provide the necessary basic information regarding the software. In its truest sense, it is an introductory book to develop skills and get basic ideas for those who are new to the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Entire practical in the book are done and verified using various QGIS versions, from 3.4.9 to 3.32.2, and the figures provided in the book were taken as screenshots while working on QGIS software. This book aims to introduce the learners to QGIS software and show them how to prepare maps and run spatial queries and analyses. Special care has been taken while writing the steps and taking screenshots. The book is divided into fourteen chapters.
