This book is intended to be read in a specific order, following the sadness of a broken and battered heart--allowing that heart to feel safe and secure until it opens up its sunshine as well as its gloom. Some of these lines have been pulled from the darkest corners of my desk, written several years ago by a very lonely, very sad young girl. I think you'll find that the style of those ones differ from the ones I have written recently. I will leave it up to you to ponder which ones those are. A lot of these poems are sad--but then, most poetry is. I only hope that these few words can be a comfort to others, to show them that they are not alone in their feelings of regret and loneliness. Grief and pain. It is not meant to leave you in despair, however, as the last poem of this book hopefully illustrates. For, despite your gloom, shortcomings, failures, and weaknesses, you are still beautiful, weary one. And God loves you more than anyone on this earth ever could. And remember: His hands are the safest place to store your heart--He will never bruise it as others have. You are safe and you are loved .
