So, I bought this book thinking it was a book for learning hand sewing. Mending, sewing clothes or even just small projects that use the basic stitches for hand sewing pieces without a sewing machine. It's not that.
While you do sew a few projects like a corner bookmark and a cellphone case as examples, most of it is learning cross stitch and embroidery. While I do understand that some stitches do go for both arts, and learning to do embellishments to items is a nice skill, it's not exactly what I was looking for. While running stitch is included, however the basic back stick, blanket stick, etc for just basic hand sewing is not here. Some of these I have found on YouTube. I was hoping to find a book to learn more and learn how to create patters etc. I won't return it as it does have some usefulness. I'll be looking for something else for learning to mend and sew by hand.
