After the Rabbit children have celebrated Halloween by making costumes, carving jack-o-lanterns, and going trick-or-treating, their parents have one more surprise in store for them.
Captures the Feeling of an Old Fashioned Halloween

This book reminds me of the good old days of Halloween when I was a kid. We got this book for free when it was retired from our school library. It was probably retired as it's getting a little dated (mom sews the costumes, treats are homemade). I and my elementary school aged kids love it, though. I haven't tired of reading the simple text and looking at the details in the pictures. It's all very sweet and innocent and captures the Halloween fun in a friendly neighborhood. There is a boy and a girl bunny with a baby sister bunny. Everyone is included in the activities.
Halloween Surprises

This is a delightful little book that is great for ages two through 6. It includes all the great steps children go through getting ready for Halloween -- of course, this bunny family goes through the same steps. There isn't a lot of dialogue to bog down the story but the pictures fill in well. It is a great favorite in our home. One caution: as the children trick or treat they eat their treats right away so we always address that issue -- for that, we subtract one star.
