Half a Stick of Gum is Enough

Since both of my parents were gone too early, I realized that I did not know as much about them as I wanted to-about their lives outside of being parents and even before kids came along. I had questions about what it was like for them growing up. What were their passions? What experiences did they have that influenced who they became? I've tried to collect memories from my childhood and from those around me to flesh out answers to such questions to share with you. If we don't share our experiences, they will be gone forever. I believe that our history shapes us and our world, and I do not want that history to be lost.I invite you to follow along with me as I recall those times with a mix of stories, poems, and vignettes drawn from the first half of my life. If you have a stick of gum handy, tear off a half stick and enjoy it while you read.
