warm and wooly

Tim and Tom and Mary are the Woolsey family lambs. It's getting to be spring - the time of year when sheep are given their yearly haircuts. The lambs are excited to be getting outdoors to play again, but the day after the shearing, it snows again. Oh no! But never fear. Grandma Woolsey has spun yarn and knitted sweaters for each lamb from their newly shorn fleeces, so now it's OK to play outdoors. This charming book is the one we use at the museum when teaching preschoolers about farm animals. They always enjoy it, being able to relate to the lambs' dismay. As is the case with all of childredePaola's stories, the illustrations are humorous and charming. This title is out of print, but available from used book dealers. Highly recommended.
