Haiku by Heart is an original collection of twenty-eight haiku poems, written in English.
In their natural imagery, seasonal reference, and zen-like simplicity, these haiku pay homage to the traditional aspects of the Japanese art form.
However, rather than unfolding in the foothills of Mount Fuji, or on Bashō's 'Narrow Road to the Deep North', Haiku by Heart is inspired by the coast and countryside of Kent, the Garden of England.
The mainly natural images are also interwoven with layers of love and loss, recording moments of more heartfelt awareness, sensation, and reflection.
