Book Overview

Not everyone who goes into the woods comes out....

It was supposed to be a short hike, a way for Fletcher and Adam to kill time one boring afternoon. But when day turns into night and neither boy returns home, their town is thrown into turmoil.

Search teams comb the forest. Then Avery, the police chief's daughter, stumbles on a body. It's Fletcher--disoriented, beaten, and covered in blood. He has no memory of the incident, and worse yet, he has no idea what happened to the still-missing Adam....

As danger and suspicion grow, one thing becomes very clear: No one can escape the truth.

Praise for Hannah Jayne's The Dare:

"A page-turner in the spirit of Lois Duncan's classic I Know What You Did Last Summer; it will undoubtedly please the thriller-loving crowd." --Kirkus

"Well-rounded characters spark with life in this chiller." --Booklist

"Reminiscent of Sara Shepard's Pretty Little Liars series, The Dare is a novel that truly makes one think about their own actions-- and the possible consequences." --Teen Reads

I was addicted to this when I was younger

This is one of my all time favorite books! Read it like 8 times Also keep in mind that an older author wrote this so the perspective might seem a little off Like how the mc might seem over dramatic, that’s because that’s how the author sees us. And as someone who also sees us teens like this, it was hilarious to me. Also keep in mind that this book is written like a diary, but it doesn’t feel like it. It’s like one of those movies were it faded in and out of a story teller, yet the story fades back into a scene without background dialogue. What I’m saying is the book is written like a normal first person so keep in mind that it’s kind of a past tense story. This is told in the beginning and can be shown with the “butterfly’s” you’ll know what I mean when you read it. Over all 10/10 book

The book could have been written better.

The way the author writes is very displeasing and appears childish. I found the story line to be an interesting idea, but the way it was executed was poor choice. Would not reccommend.

Must buy

This book has an amazing plot and the way it's written is phenomenal. Virginia bergin manages to write about a world in mass chaos so well. She sprinkles in elements of unexpected romance that makes this book even better. You must buy it!
