Gurkino Salado: Hunter of the Lost Onion

By Doris Kluin

A vegetable western of the highest order

The Wild West, a cucumber, an old horse and three peas tied together in a bola: these are the ingredients for an adventure humanity has been waiting for far longer than it realizes.

Gurkino Salado, a slightly undersized country cucumber, dreams of a quiet life with as little work as possible.

Will he succeed? Absolutely not.

Driven by the harsh realities of cucumber needs, Gurkino embarks on a journey full of danger, absurdity and unbelievable adventures that will eventually lead him to Ophelia, a charming onion held captive by an evil cabbage.

Anyone who loves fruit, vegetables, horses and the Wild West will feel right at home in this story.

Who is this book for?

Suitable for children aged 12 and up as well as adults - provided they possess a healthy appreciation for silliness and the determination never to lose their sense of humor, no matter how absurd the situation becomes.
