When the Tables Turn

Guilty Pleasures by Donna Hill, introduces us to Jake and Eva Kelly. Jake works for a car dealership and Eva works for a fashion designer. However, secretly they run a con game that has been very successful. After ten years of playing the game, Jake and Eva have never gotten caught. However, Eva is tired of the game and wants to get out. She is ready to settle down and have a nice `normal' life with Jake and have a child. Jake does not want out but because he loves Eva, decides that they will quit...after one more con. Reluctantly Eva agrees and sets out to find the mark. Unfortunately for them she picked the wrong mark this time. Stan Ingram is married to Lenora, an FBI agent, who will not be blackmailed. What happens after all parties are exposed is a train wreck waiting to happen as Jake and Eva set out to pull off the biggest con of their lives. I really enjoyed this book. It is definitely a page turner. I found it very suspenseful and I could not wait to know what happened next. Reviewed by Shaquitta Leday APOOO BookClub

Very Good Read

I must say that this was the first Donna Hill book that I have read and I was very pleased.The action was gripping and the story line was very exciting.I look forward to reading more works by this author.

Her BEST book ever!

I have been faithful fan of Donna Hill. Honestly, her others books have nothing on Guilty Pleasures! From page one you're hooked into the lives of Bonnie and Clyde. There was never a dull moment, and more often than once I found myself talking to the characters. This is one book where I was praying the bad guys got away! The only thing I have to say is I wish the book was longer! This book is a perfect and easy 10!

Donna Hill Is Bak With A BANG!

Power couple Jake and Eva are used to living life on the wild side, pulling heist after heist like second nature. It wasn't until there last heist gave Eva a bad feeling that turned out to be right on point that their lives turned upside down. Rita, Eva's almost twin in appearance cousin and Jinx, Jakes little brother all pair up when a greedy FBI agent wants in on the action too. This book had me horny, happy, sad, and shouting out loud as the book went from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds flat. There is so much energy in the book, and Donna Hill was cleverly able to slide a little romance in the mix that had you turning the pages and wanting more. This book is meant to be read in one sitting! Donna HIll, you have mastered the art of story telling. Keep up the good work!

But this is not your ordinary couple. Although they get an incredible rush from the insatiable sexual energy between them, they enjoy a different kind of rush even more: the con. Eva and Jake figured out long ago how to extort huge amounts of cash from drunken businessmen in town on business and away from their wives. Eva is looking to settle down and get out of the business but Jake wants to do one last con. Unfortunately, things aren't in their favor when the mark of this last con turns on them after they demand blackmail money. Eva and Jake aren't out of the game yet when they come up with a plan to rob a cruise ship with the help of Eva's cousin Rita and Jake's brother Jinx. They plan to turn the tables around on their mark and his wife. But will this be the perfect crime or will this send them to an early grave? Guilty Pleasures is a sexy thriller by Donna Hill. Hill did an excellent job of adding the perfect blend of espionage and drama to this story. I absolutely loved Eva and Jake. Although they were the "villains" of this story, I couldn't help but root for them and hoped that they got away with this last con. Readers will enjoy the non-stop, beat-the-clock style action type scenes that can rival any movie. Fascinating characters, a fast-paced plot, and deliciously erotic sex scenes makes this the perfect novel to curl up with on those cold autumn and winter nights. Guilty Pleasures is an example of the wonderful style and versatility of Donna Hill as an author.
