Digital Illusions' Ultracore (formerly known as Hardcore) is a run-and-gun game. The game was supposed to be released in 1994 for the Amiga, Sega Genesis, and Sega CD platforms, but it was canceled by its publisher, Psygnosis, after it was almost finished. The game was rescued by publisher Strictly Limited Games and launched in March 2019 alongside the Mega Sg aftermarket console. In 2020, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita ports will be available. In October 2019, a version compatible with original Sega Genesis systems was launched in Japan. Ultracore is a fast-paced "Eurostyle 2D shooter" that necessitates quick reflexes. While progressing through the stages, the player collects weapon power-ups.
