Dr. John has given the world a tremendous gift in this book. Emotional Intelligence, by Daniel Goleman, brought out the extreme importance of emotional management, yet it failed to tell us exactly HOW to manage the emotional side of the mind. Dr. John has done just that - shown us how to manage the emotional side of the mind with a myriad of tools and methods to lead a happier life. If you want to learn happiness, this is the book to teach you how.

This book changed my life! I can now manage my emotions.

Dr. Schinnerer has a tremendous gift for making sense of our emotions. He does a wonderful job of making the complex world of affect (emotion) accessible to the average person. After reading this book, I am now much more aware of my own emotions, moods and temperament. My patience has grown. My anger has diminished. And bothersome incidents run off my back like water off a duck's back. For the first time, I understand why we have emotions, what I'm feeling at any particular moment, and I now have a choice in how I respond to any one emotion. And I have to tell you, it's a very powerful feeling. Prior to reading this book, I was at the mercy of my own emotions. Now, I'm beginning to master my negative emotions, such as anger, fear and sadness. Even my children have noticed the difference in me.
