Guardian in Exile: The God Eater's Hellion

By Randy Littlejohn

Asariel, once Heaven's premier monster-dusting weapon, is now trapped in the last place he wants to be: Los Angeles. Exiled by divine decree, and tethered to the body of a regular guy. Worse yet? The spell won't break until humanity is extinct. Resentful and plotting revenge against the wizard he blames for this jam-if he could just find him-Asariel's plans are derailed when local clergy start dropping dead without a mark on them. Hollywood executives are suddenly wielding dangerous magic, and the veil that protects ordinary citizens from what they don't want to know is shattering. His only solace is drowning his sorrows at a local jazz club owned by a fallen angel whose snark is as sharp as his suits.

But happy hour is cut short when a mysterious woman packing supernatural firepower corners Asariel with a warning: a brotherhood of warlocks is about to release an archdemon, and it will be looking for things to hurt. She could use a hand. Asariel's heard of him. Legend has it he's the one who brings it all down, everything.

To find out why local clergy are mysteriously dying, why Hollywood execs turned dangerously magical, and to stop a demonic apocalypse, Asariel must navigate the corrupt, neon-lit streets of L.A. and the otherworld realms of Elphame, the home of the Fae, all while trapped in a body that can bleed. If he fails, the mortal plane burns.

Randy Littlejohn's GUARDIAN IN EXILE: The God Eater's Hellion is a hardboiled urban fantasy that effectively uses a highly cinematic, adrenaline-fueled storytelling style. Fans of The Dresden Files and Good Omens will especially appreciate the nonstop crime-solving set against a grand, millennia-spanning battle between angels, demons, and fae.
