Rafael Costa does not have room for distractions.
As Northline Jiu Jitsu fights its way back from the edge, Rafe is carrying the gym on discipline, exhaustion, and sheer force of will. He does not have time for mistakes, complications, or feelings he cannot control.
Then Julian Park comes back.
Julian was once Northline's brightest young star until one public collapse sent him running from the sport, the gym, and the version of himself he could not bear to face. Now he is older, sharper, and unexpectedly good at breathing life back into the place he left behind. Parents trust him. New students respond to him. The gym feels different when he is in it.
So does Rafe.
What begins as a careful working arrangement turns into something far more dangerous. Old history lingers between them. So does attraction. And the more Julian becomes essential to Northline's future, the harder it is for Rafe to pretend he only wants him there for the gym.
But Julian has another option. A cleaner future. A better offer. A way out that makes sense on paper.
Now Rafe has to decide whether doing the honorable thing means letting Julian go, or finally telling the truth about what he wants.
