Niger is confronted with a mutation of its land. The urban commune of Tibiri in the Maradi region was chosen as the study area on the basis of purposive sampling. These changes are due not only to demographic growth through anthropic pressure, but also to climatic hazards placing the ecosystem in a precarious equilibrium. The aim of this research is to contribute to improved natural resource management based on satellite data processing and GIS. The methodology applied includes the processing of landsat ETM+ (2000 and 2010) and OLI/TIRS 2020 images, socio-economic surveys, the creation of a spatial database, on-line mapping and, finally, projections to 2050. The socio-economic surveys carried out corroborate that the effects of natural resource degradation take the form of a series of economic, social and ecological disasters.
