What happens when the witnesses finally get a chance to talk to each other?
A Rubik's Cube sits near a strange table. Then the identities begin arriving.
Newton brings gravity. Einstein brings relativity. Tesla brings electricity and an alarming interest in anything with a plug. Scientists, mechanics, musicians, farmers, theologians, comedians, artificial intelligences, world leaders, telescopes, spacecraft, animals, and even Origami eventually find themselves in the same increasingly crowded meeting.
Before long, NASA has misplaced a spacecraft, the lunar lander is playing pool, Origami is folding everything it hears, and somebody in the room keeps shouting:
"HEY I REPRESENT THAT REMARK "
Lloyd H. McDonald sits nearby as the records keeper, listening to the conversations and recording what happens.
Beneath the comedy, something remarkable begins to emerge.
Every identity has relationships. Those relationships operate within boundaries. When they are coherent with the governing specifications of that identity, they produce observable fruit. When the fruit is incoherent, the identity does not need to become another identity. The relationships need to be examined, repaired, calibrated, and executed again.
The witnesses begin discovering that they have been describing this relational architecture in their own native languages all along.
Then the meeting changes.
A candle whispers.
The Cube hears it.
And someone walks through the crowd who recognizes the language.
