Grounded for Growth is a discipleship tool that gives "Disciple-Makers" a strategy to teach new believers. Based on I John 2:12-14, there are four stages that all believers experience in the spiritual growth process. Each one builds on the other. In the first stage, infant, believers are given the big picture of their salvation where they grow in the love of God and are introduced to sharing the gospel. In the second stage, child, believers are made aware of the Holy Spirit's work in them as they train in the spiritual disciplines. In the third stage, young men, believers are instructed on how to respond to trials and suffering, and on how to fight and have victory. In the final stage, fathers, believers are encouraged to use their gifts to serve by teaching others what they have learned in the first three stages. Thus, the cycle of spiritual multiplication is reproduced. This course can be taught in sixteen weeks or spread out into four 8-week sessions. The leader is encouraged to take this teaching time at a pace which is necessary to meet the needs of the disciple(s). It is recommended to be done one-on-one or in a small group setting. However, the larger the group, the less effective the results may be. There is a Student Workbook available for the disciple(s) that compliments the Leader's Guide.
