I've always been a bit of a joker and quick to make a rhyme out of any situation and sometimes I didn't even realise I was doing it. After having a crap few years the only way I felt I could get something off my chest was to write it down. It made me feel like I'd spoken to someone about it and if I'm honest it felt like a bit of an anger release. I started writing poems about life, Daily occurrences and things that we all get itchy teeth over, chucked in a bit of humour then added what we call a 'Karenism' WARNING... I do tend to swear a tiny bit.After a lot of encouragement from my husband Mark, our girls Elysia and Kaitlin and my friends, I set up a group on Facebook which quickly grew with positive input and poems from members who'd joined from all different parts of the world I was then asked if I'd give permission to have one of my poems read on a live show on Facebook it went really well and again received great feedback I was then asked if I'd go on to the show myself and read two more pieces I'd written, live, was absolutely terified but grew a set of poet balls and did it (after a beer or two obviously). That was it. My confidence grew a bit more as did my poetic nuts.
