When I was born, my mother was very ill with TB and not allowed to hold me. I was whisked off to the home of an aunt and uncle who already had a toddler and another on the way. Three months later, my grandparents rescued me, but after my father remarried I was forced to live with him and his new wife. I grew up too fast, basically on my own from age five. Growing up in the 60's, my life became a series of twists and turns, from standing up to my father to literally standing over his body as he was dying. This story is a chronicle of my search for joy, often in the wrong places, but always led by Grace.
