This paper presents a partial survey of the repertoire produced for orchestra, dating from the first half of the 20th century, found in the score collection of the Greg rio de Mattos Foundation, in Salvador, Bahia, and some works for orchestra that are part of it. These works are subjected to critical analysis, contextualising them and seeking to validate their importance and representativeness in the Bahian musical scene. They can be considered at least as evidence of the existence of orchestral groups in the city of Salvador during this period, as well as helping to build a panorama of the cultural life of this city in the first half of the 20th century.
