Because these records were compiled at the beginning of the 20th Century, tombstones mounted after the 1930s are not included in this volume. "The WPA Records are, for the most part, carbon copies of the original that was typed on onion skin paper during the Depression. Since these records were typed on poor machines by people who did not type well either or read by persons not always sure of the older handwritten material, the results are often less than perfect. ...
