Wonderful stories

I bought this book for the Goble illustrations, but I've enjoyed reading the stories as well.

tales of old in a splendid edition

This edition (0-333-27390-7) is a 1979 facsimile hardcover reprint of the 1923 edition (_Green Willow and Other Japanese Fairy Tales_) with 16 full colour plates by Warwick Goble (some later printings omit the colour). The book is an anthology of 30 translated tales and legends from Japan. A pleasure to read.
