Environment-friendly manufacturing is now becoming an integrated part of almost all manufacturing industries.Nanofluid of the three plant oils are prepared using ZnO at three levels of concentrations such as 0.125%, 0.25%, and 0.5% (wt./vol.) for each. After further confirmation through experiments, 0.125% inclusion of nanoparticle is identified as the most appropriate ratio for experimentation and more better results were obtained using palm and groundnut oil-based nanofluids. About 53% reduction in surface roughness and 17% in cutting temperature is achieved through the use of nanofluids. Further experiments were carried out to identify the appropriate cutting parameters for optimization. For this, three factors having three levels such as speed (500,750, and 1000 rpm), feed rate (0.1, 0.15, and 0.2 mm/rev) and depth of cut (0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 mm) as input parameters and surface roughness and tooltip temperature as output parameters are considered. Taguchi's L9 orthogonal array is used as an experimental design. Further experiments were performed for optimum machining parameters. Analysis of variance and regression analysis was carried for the validation of the experiments.
