This book is a wonderful blending of the past and the present. The characters are people you would like to have as friends. Nice too that this isn't the only book by this author, but part of a series. She has written "Valley Echoes" and "The Majesty of Trees" under the name of Sabra Morgan.

I would like to bring to everyones attention this great read. Great Mother Mountain held my attention right from the start. The story of two woman finding such love for each other and the intertwining of their families is spellbinding. When you read this book, you look at the happenings as though you are there. You feel the anguish and the triumphs as though you had done them. When I was coming to the end of this book, I felt pleased with the knowledge that the next book of Sabra Morgan, Valley Echoes was on its way to me. I can not wait to read the next chapter in this great story. I truly feel this is one of the best books I have read in quite some time. Do not let it slip by.

although i have not read a lot of lesbian literature, i can freely say that what i have read i have not enjoyed. i was given a copy of great mother mountain by friends and felt an obligation to read it. i was so very pleasantly surprised. not at all your run of the mill girl meets girl, girl loses girl, girl gets girl back, this novel has a wonderful storyline with an absolutely engaging subplot. the eleventh hour twist will bring smiles to your heart, and keep you turning pages. settle into a comfy chair and let mattie take your hand and lead you on a journey that will make you happy to be a woman.
