Riveting!

An amazing story with a cast of characters that are simply riveting! This is such a great "bubble-bath" book! Absolutely exquisit in every way, you've got to read it to believe it!!Just one recommendation: It is quite clear that Ms. Sterling did not thoroughly research the uses of certain food products before writing about them. Don't try the honey thing at home kids! (Not only is it sticky, apparently honey crystallizes too!! OUCH!!) ;)Enjoy it everybody!!!

Another charming book from author Cynthia Sterling. As always, the characters come alive, and the setting is so real, you'll feel like you've been to the spa in Welcome Springs, Texas. GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST is sweet, funny and sexy all at the same time. The scene where Jed licks the honey off Nixie's fingers is delicious! You MUST read this book! It's a charmer.

An otherworldly romance that is fun

In 1893 Texas, Jed finds it more difficult to win an argument with his charismatic father the Great Caesar Hawkins ever since his sire died in the accident. Arguing with an obstinate ghost accomplishes little when said spirit belittles your efforts to turn the family business, a traveling medicine show, into a respectable enterprise. Caesar believes that scantily clad women sell Great Caesar's Celebrated Curative while Jed wants the product to sell itself.Unable to persuade Jed to do his bidding, Caesar wanders the town seeking a beautiful entertainer. Remaining in the shadows, he meets Nixie Dengler, who he tricks into entering the family wagon. Jed and Nixie do not hit it off at all, which gives Caesar the idea that she is perfect for her son especially after she performs at the show. As Caesar plays otherworldly matchmaker, Jed and Nixie fight to ignore their attraction to one another since neither one trusts the other sex.GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST is an interesting supernatural romance that centers on a ghost's efforts to keep his mortal business thriving and as a by- product get his son married. Readers need to understand that the story line is propelled by Caesar's selfish actions that are not always altruistic, positive, or for the good of his son. Jed is a bit of a charmer, but the audience will want him to forget the queen of victims, Nixie. Besides she already has a significant other in William the Parakeet. Fans of supernatural and western romance sub-genres will probably enjoy this tale if they can ignore Nixie's constant need to prove men leave a type of Pygmalion effect.Harriet Klausner
